Just signed up for…

the Firework Cupcake Virtual Race! It’s the first time I’ve ever done a virtual race, so we’ll see if I actually like it or not. I don’t get a bib, but I do get a medal—and all the proceeds go towards the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! Plus, I can pick my own distance—5K, 10K, or half marathon. I’m sure I’ll either do the 5K or 10K—we’ll see!

Why am I…

just finding out about the training plan feature on Garmin Connect? Coolest. Thing. Ever. And the training plans look so much better than the ones Runners’ World gives you. Love this!

Signed up for my first race post-torn meniscus!

So, my dad and I are doing the Run with Dad 5K for Father’s Day. We did the race last year too—you can read the recap here!

I hope I did that right… there was no where for me to say that I signed up because of you

Thank you! The URL was my own referral code—so it registered under me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Help me get an internship?

I applied for an internship with Rent the Runway—the company where I got my gorgeous formal dress! However, before my phone interview, I need to refer as many people as I can—just to prove that I would be able to successfully market their product.

Please consider signing up? It’s free! You never have to rent anything, if you don’t want to! Plus, the more women I refer, the more likely it is for me to be offered a position. Help? Please? Plus, if you do decide to rent, we’ll both get $20 off after your first rental.

I have to sign up 100 women—and, so far, I only have 40 or so.

rumpelstiltskins-magic asked: I was just wondering if you wash your hair every day after you run? I used to, but I know it's bad to wash your hair every day, so I've been trying not to, but I just feel so gross haha

Nope—I usually don’t. If I didn’t get super sweaty, I won’t wash it. I try to stick with washing it every other day or so.

If it bugs you, you could try using a dry shampoo!

Took a short run…

to a nearby bank. I was in desperate need of quarters for laundry.

Sweat on sweat on sweat.

Nothing says summer like a run in 82 degree weather with 62% humidity. Hello runner’s tan! #run #me #summer

Star Trek, Froyo, and boyfriend.

(Yes, I will keep my Oxford comma until I die…)

I’m leaving Pittsburgh on Wednesday; then, it’s off to Maryland to work at City Sports again (yay!). Until then, boyfriend and I are trying to spend as much time as possible together. Today, we’re watching the first Star Trek, going to get froyo, and, later, going to see the second Star Trek (yay for $6 movie Monday’s!)

Today will be a good day.

When you’re still considered…

a “new” girlfriend, it’s so awkward to spend time with your significant other’s family. Trying to make a good impression is terribly exhausting.

Marathon

A sport of goodwill

It’s the only sport in the world where if a competitor falls, the others around will pick him or her up. It’s the only sport in the world open to absolutely everyone, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity or any other division you can think of. It’s the only occasion when thousands of people assemble, often in a major city, for a reason that is totally peaceful, healthy and well meaning. It’s the only sport in the world where no one boos anybody

Nothing says summer like…

enjoying peach mango margaritas and homemade pizza on our roof while watching the sun go down. Perfection.
